Matt McCubbins

Matt McCubbins is an attorney in Louisville, Kentucky. Matt utilizes his experience, knowledge, and dedication to bring personalized solutions to his clients and their legal matters.

Matt McCubbins practices law in the areas of Personal Injury and Wrongful Death; Business Disputes; Criminal Defense and Traffic Violations; and Probate and Estates. While Matt predominately practices law in Jefferson County, he has represented clients in over 10 counties throughout Kentuckiana.

Throughout his career as an attorney in Louisville, Matt McCubbins has represented clients in settlements and trials in cases involving car wrecks, dog bites, slip and falls, assaults, semi truck wrecks, motorcycle accidents, medical malpractice, dangerous premises, defective products, property disputes, and breach of contract cases. Matt McCubbins has represented clients in felony, misdemeanor, and traffic ticket cases. And Matt McCubbins has represented executors, administrators, heirs, and beneficiaries in probate and estate administration.

Matt McCubbins received his J.D., cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law (2007) in Cleveland, Ohio, graduating in the top 15% of his law school class. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Bellarmine University (2000), where he was a member of the baseball team. Matt is an alumnus of St. Xavier High School (1996) in Louisville, Kentucky.

After graduating from law school, Matt served a one year term as the Law Clerk to a Commonwealth of Kentucky Circuit Court Judge, where he gained invaluable experience on the inner workings of trial practice and the judicial system.

Matt McCubbins is a member of The National Trial Lawyers Association and has been selected for inclusion in its list of the Top 40 under 40 Trial Lawyers in Kentucky.

Before becoming a lawyer, Matt McCubbins worked in marketing and branding in Chicago, Louisville, and New York. He served as an Associate Director of Pharmaceutical Brand Development for a global brand identity firm. Matt was an Assistant Product Manager for a pharmaceutical company. And Matt was a Senior Analyst in Corporate Sales Operations for a large, publicly traded health insurance company.

Matt McCubbins is the author of “Developments in Korean Corporate Governance: Progress toward 21st Century Standards in an Emerging Economic Powerhouse,” published in International Trade and Business Law Review, Volume 11, 2008 – an annual, peer-refereed law review. In part, this publication compared Korean corporate governance practices to those of large, publicly traded corporations in the United States.

Matt McCubbins is admitted to the practice of law in Kentucky and Indiana, and in the United States District Courts for the Western District of Kentucky and the Southern District of Indiana.
