DAVID STANLEY is the founder and principal of David E. Stanley, APLC. Since 1983, Mr. Stanley has successfully practiced law from his office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is a distinguished trial lawyer fiercely dedicated to representing individuals accused of committing serious or complex federal or state felony crimes or who seek to appeal their federal court, or state court, conviction or sentence.
In 2018, Mr. Stanley became a Lifetime Charter Member of Best Attorneys in America. From 2015 to the present, he has been recognized by The National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 Criminal Defense Trial Lawyers. The American Society of Legal Advocates also selected him has one of the Top 100 Criminal Defense Lawyers in the State of Louisiana in 2015. He received the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorney’s 10 Best Client Satisfaction Award in 2015 and again in 2018. In 2013, Mr. Stanley was listed in The Legal Network Top Lawyers in Louisiana.
Mr. Stanley earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Louisiana State University (1979) and a Juris Doctor from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center of Louisiana State University (1983). He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, and he is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Louisiana and all other appellate courts and district courts in Louisiana. He is also admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana. He has previously been admitted to practice pro hac vice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Mr. Stanley has successfully argued cases before the Louisiana Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
He and his wife Debra recently celebrated 30 years of marriage. They have four children and three grandchildren.
